A man lost his life when the car he was traveling in plunged into a drain along the Papar-Beaufort road in Kota Kinabalu on Monday.
According to a report by The Star Online, 22-year-old Mohd Nizam Rahman is believed to have drowned after the car overturned and trapped him inside.
A passerby who saw the submerged vehicle reportedly called the police around 7.20am, but the portal reported that Mohd Nizam was already dead when help arrived.
Mohd Nizam was found trapped in between the seat and sterring wheel, the portal said.
Papar district police chief Deputy Supt George Rakman told the news website that Mohd Nizam was pronounced dead at the Papar hospital.
