Dramatic scenes straight from a film occurred along Kuala Lumpur streets yesterday afternoon, with police attempting to stop a suspicious looking Toyota Hilux driver while patrolling along Jalan Kuching, only for the car to suddenly give chase.

Driving towards the upscale Bukit Kiara neighborhood along the LDP highway, the vehicle continued to try to outrun police, attempting not only to smash patrol cars with their truck, but also tossing a tool at officers in an attempt to thwart their pursuit.

Eventually police were able to draw arms and shoot the Hilux’s tyres, causing the driver to come to halt inside the Bukit Kiara tunnel, going towards the Penchala Link.

Unwilling to relent, the driver then attempted to flee the accident, but was stopped by authorities who found him to be in possession of Eramin 5 pills.

Occurring at 4:30pm just before the pre-rush hour jam, stunned motorists recorded short videos of the aftermath and uploaded the scenes to social media.

The suspect, a 30-year-old man, has since been detained in Sentul police station. Authorities report that he had a previous criminal record.
