Businessman found dead in Subang Jaya hotel bathtub

A businessman was found dead in a Subang Jaya hotel’s bathtub with his wrists slit on Monday.

According to a report by The Star Online, the 43-year-old man — who reportedly checked into the hotel on Sunday — was found in the bathtub by a cleaner after he failed to check out on time on Monday.

“The employee knocked on the door and rang the bell repeatedly but there was no response.

“The staff then used a master key to open the door, but it only budged a little.

“The door could not be fully opened because of a chain guard,” a source was quoted by the news portal as saying.

The source said the employee then alerted manager on duty, but was told to leave the guest be and check on him again at a later time.

“At 8.30pm, a cleaner was sent to check on the guest. Again there was no response.

“The cleaner forced the door open and saw blood all over the floor, bed and bathroom,” the source told The Star.

The cleaner reportedly found the businessman, who was dressed in black, in the bathtub with multiple cuts all over his body.

A suicide note was also reportedly found nearby.

The source told the news portal that the businessman had consumed aspirin tablets and rat poison before slashing his own wrists, neck and other parts of his body.

According to The Star, initial investigations revealed that the victim had reportedly borrowed money from ah longs.
