A businessman has been charged with criminal intimidation after he called a bomb threat on a plane which turned out to be fake.
The Star Online reports that Wong Choon Loong, 41, — cited as a director of several companies — claimed trial to the charge of allegedly calling Firefly Airline’s customer hotline ‘to instil panic and fear’ by claiming that an explosive was on board Flight 3251 from Subang to Singapore on May 17.
Wong faces a maximum sentence of two years’ jail or a fine if found guilty.
TheSundaily reported that all 30 passengers of onboard the flight were evacuated after the flight was forced to turn around and make an emergency landing at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport following the bomb hoax.
