Controversial Kinabatangan MP Bung Mokhtar Radin has accused Opposition lawyer Latheefa Koya of threatening him via Twitter.
And the veteran politician has roped in the cops.
It all started when Bung Mokhtar called for the Sedition Act to be used on all those who protested it and that included the PKR lawyer and Lawyers for Liberty adviser.
Latheefa then tweeted this: “sebelum kita mansuhkan Akta Hasutan – elok hapuskan MP Kebinatangan (sic) tu dulu” [Before we abolish the Sedition Act, it is better that we eliminate that MP Kebinatangan first].
Bung Mokhtar responded by asking the police to investigate Latheefa’s statement, calling it an ‘extreme threat’.
To this Latheefa tweeted: “childish! pdrm not your private bodyguards!”
In a Berita Harian report, Bung Mokhtar was quoted as saying that those who opposed the Sedition Act had ‘ill intentions’ and called for authorities to nab them ‘one by one’.
Latheefa has since deleted her tweet but Umno members in Kinabatangan have lodged a police report against her as tweeted by Bung Mokhtar.
