Two brothers were among five charged with rioting during the AFF Suzuki Cup first leg semi-final at the Shah Alam Stadium on Dec 7.
Mohd Aminuddin Hamdan, 34 and his 29-year-old brother Noor Hadi were charged along with Amirul Akmal Nooradzhar, 22, Zulhelmy Akmal Zainol Abidin, 28, Muhammad Naquiyuddin Sallehuddin, 19, at the Shah Alam magistrate’s court today, Bernama reports.
The five – along with several others still missing – were charged with attacking supporters of the Vietnam supporters at 9.50pm on Dec 7.
The attacks drew universal outrage from netizens as well as Malaysian football fans who, in the second leg in Vietnam, raised a banner apologising for the hooliganism that took place.
