British Airways resumes KL-London direct flights after 14 years

A British Airways flight landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport yesterday afternoon— its first since the airline suspended services between London and KL in 2001.

The non-stop Flight BA 0033 with some 200 passengers on board arrived safely at 2.35pm, the New Straits Times reports.

The airline is also offering special fares to London, the UK and Europe from Kuala Lumpur with prices starting from RM3,088. According to the NST, the offer is valid for travel between May 28 and Nov 30.

In 2001, the direct route was suspended due to sluggish air travel following the Sept 11 attacks against the United States.
