A wedding reception was irrveocably marred when the newlywed bride was found dead, mere hours before the reception feast was to commence.
Junaida Jamaluddin, 29, had only been married for a day to Muhammad Danial Zainal Abidin, 30, when she was found dad of internal bleeding hours before their “bersanding” ceremony was to have taken place at the Dewan Yayasan Felda in Kelana Jaya.
She was found sprawled out in her bedroom at her family home at 8.30am yesterday by relatives who were about to prepare her for the day’s festivities. She was rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
Some 900 guests who arrived for the scheduled reception at 11.30am were shocked to find attendants in sorrow rather than joy, and the feast devolved into a funeral gathering.
fz.com reports that Kamarul Effendy, Junaida’s brother, said the reception was to have been the last of a series of functions celebrating the newlyweds’ union.
“But God has taken her back first before she even lived a day as a wife. We so eagerly waited to parade the couple for the ceremony. Now everything lies as a dream. I just cannot believe this,” he said.
