Breaking Bad, without the Dad: Mother and son syabu duo busted in Sabah

Hey Mama, thank u for this future life of crime

A mother and son drug duo near Lahad Datu, Sabah were busted on Sunday, after a drug raid on their house turned up over 3kg of syabu. The takedown was code named Ops Sarang, aka Operation Nest, by narcotics officers gunning to take down the family-run meth distribution site. Just in time for a Breaking Bad, redux, Malaysian-style.

Police are saying that the family home in Kampung Payut served as a hub for their trafficking ring. The 52-year old mother, and her 19-year old son were the heads of the operation. I cannot imagine a more delightful case study for fellow narcotics lover Sigmund Freud.

In addition to the parcels of syabu, police found tape, plastic baggies, a black container with two green plastic spoons (the devil is always in the detail), three “modified” straws (cut in half lah), a weighing scale, and plastic bowl.

Police say total amount for the illicit goods tallied in at RM225,000.

The mother and son have been on a seven-day remand since Sunday, after which Hollywood should definitely come calling, because this sounds like the beginning of something I want to watch for the next 5 years.
