The father of an eight-year-old boy in Penang allegedly stripped his son naked and chained the poor child to at a stairway for ‘being naughty’.
He was reportedly left there for five hours and was even forced to relieve himself right there.
The Star Online reports that a resident of the flat in Paya Terubong saw the boy, chained and naked, and decided to photograph and video the child. The recordings were then uuploaded onto Facebook, where images of the boy went viral.
“I visited the boy upon receiving the news. He told me that he was chained from 10pm on Saturday until 3am as he had misbehaved,” Paya Terubong Village Security and Development Committee chairman Frankie Kee was quoted as saying.
“I warned the father, in his 40s, who initially refused to open the door, and told him that what he did was child abuse. He told me that he was a single father and the boy was his only son,” he was quoted further.
Kee told the portal that neighbours have seen this happening before.
“The father would threaten his neighbours when they tried to help the boy,” he said.
