In Alor Star, Kedah, an 11-year-old boy reportedly drove his mother’s Honda Civic straight into a shop selling mobile phones.
According to the New Straits Times, the boy’s mother had left him and his 12-year-old cousin in the car, while she went off to a nearby spa.
Both the children were seated in the front, the daily said.
The woman had reportedly left the boy instructions on how to start the engine. This, however, did not turn out to be the case, as the boy ended up doing more than just that; he crashed the vehicle into the shop in Taman Vistana Indah at 3.30pm.
“Several of our facilities and accessories were damaged. But what’s important is that no one was injured, including the two boys,” shop owner Md Shaifon Nizam Ahmad, 35, told the NST, adding that damages could cost him up to an estimated RM20,000.
