Body in water tank confirmed to be that of missing university student

Authorities confirmed that the skeletal remain found in a water tank outside in Jempol district, two hours outside of Kuala Lumpur, were those of a missing university student, whose whereabouts have been unknown for a year.

A statement released today explained that DNA test concluded that the remains inside belonged to Muhammad Aiman Hakim Mat Ani 22, who was a final year student, studying Computer Science and Mathematics at Universiti Teknologi Mara in nearby Raub, Pahang. He was reported missing on June 9, 2018.

Authorities report that the body had been inside the tank located at Felda Palong 12 for a very long time, and the victim’s remains were not found intact.

The water tank is owned by Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan (SAINS), with the body having been found under unclear circumstances at 11.30am on March 25.
