The body of a child, reported missing in Segambut on Monday, was found beside a river in Subang Jaya on Tuesday morning.
The Star Online‘s Justin Zack reports that an Indonesian worker spotted the body at 9am while he was fishing.
“I saw something that looked like a patung (doll) stuck beside the river. Then I realised it was a body,” the man, identified only as Lias, was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy told the portal that the boy’s father had confirmed his identity.
The boy, idenfied in a Harian Metro report as Syaiful Alhilal Hamim, 11, was reported missing after falling into a river beside Masjid Al-Budian in Kampung Segambut Dalam while playing with his friends.
He had fallen into the water as he attempted to retrieve a friend’s slipper around 4pm.
The Fire and Rescue Department said they were alerted of the incident four hours later and a search and rescue mission was launched.
