Bersih activist Maria Chin arrested over #KitaLawan rally

Activist Maria Chin Abdullah was arrested at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters this afternoon as police investigate the Bersih 2.0 leader on her involvement with the recent #KitaLawan rally.

Her legal advisor Honey Tan told reporters that she was released after posting bail, The Star Online‘s T. Avineshwaran reports.

“We did not answer their (police) questions and we told them we will answer in court,” Maria was quoted as saying, adding that she would be present for the planned anti-Goods and Services Tax (GST) rally on May 1, which police have declared illegal.

Also arrested was Bersih secretariat officer Mandeep Singh, who was also released on bail. Both have reportedly been ordered to report back to the police in one month.
