Bersih 4: Don’t bring kids, says organiser

This rally is no place for children, says Bersih 2.0 chief Maria Chin Abdullah in urging parents to have their children sit this one out.

“If they do not have options but to bring their children with them, we hope that they will take full responsibility of their safety and well-being,” The Star Online reports Bersih 2.0 chief Maria Chin Abdullah as saying. She added however, that bringing kids along was an offence under Section 20(1)(c) of the Peaceful Assembly Act (PAA) 2012.

She added that the movement condemned any act of vandalism and  advised protesters to stay away from violent or provocative behaviour.

“Please report any provocative behaviour to the authorities or the police,” she was quoted as saying.

Maria added supporters could gather at 2pm tomorrow at any of the five main points — Masjid Negara, Brickfields, Pasar Seni, Menara Maybank and the from of the Sogo shopping complex — before heading towards Dataran Merdeka.
