Bersih 2.0 chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah, its secretariat officer Mandeep Singh, PKR strategy director Sim Tze Min, and former PKR Terengganu Youth chief and current Jingga 13 coordinator Fariz Musa have been charged by the police for their involvement in March 28’s #KitaLawan rally.
Mandeep told The Rakyat Post today that he had received a phone call from ASP Ahmad Khairuddin Alias of the Royal Malaysian Police, who infomed him that he and the three others would be charged under Section 4(2)(C) of the Peaceful Assembly Act (PAA) 2012.

“I have been called up many times in relation to the #KitaLawan demos but this in particular was on the day of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s daughter’s wedding reception.
“This was held at the usual places like Sogo and KLCC,” Mandeep said.
He added that the four accused would need to present themselves at the courthouse in Jalan Duta on September 9 at 8am.
Bersih 2.0, an electoral reform movement, is also under investigation for last weekend’s #BERSIH4 mass protest, which saw upwards of 150,000 Malaysians participating in a 34-hour demonstration and sleep-in calling for Prime Minister Najib Razak’s resignation.
