A secondary school teacher was accosted by an unknown assailant during her morning commute yesterday morning, and had her car and belongings stolen.
The victim, who lives in Seri Kembangan and teaches at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Utama 2 was hit from behind by another car at around 7am yesterday.
As she stopped her car near a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) construction site, the driver of the car that rammed into her exited his vehicle and approached her.
The teacher was then pulled out of her car and was punched by her assailant.
Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Azmi Abu Kassim told The Malay Mail‘s Ushar Daniele, “She fell to the ground and the man drove off with her car.
“She also lost her personal belongings, including her handbag.”
Azmi added that investigations into the incident revealed that the assailant had an accomplice.
Despite the attack and the robbery of her car and belongings, the teacher nevertheless turned up for work shortly after being picked up by a colleague.
According to SMK Bandar Utama 2 principal Tan Heng Chan, “She said she was glad she was not abducted and only sustained light injuries.
“I told her to take the day off and seek medical attention.”
