Banana thief who slashed plantation caretaker, gets slashed the next day

Well, like they say: karma is a b*tch!

A banana thief, who allegedly slashed a plantation caretaker when he was caught, was in turn slashed by the owner of the plantation when he returned to steal the fruit the very next day.

Besut police chief Superintendent Mohd Zamri Mohd Rowi told The New Straits Times that the suspect had tresspassed into a plantation at Felda Tenang in Hulu Besut on Wednesday.

“The thief, from Felcra Keruak, was caught red handed by the caretaker, chopping a ripened banana fruit stalk.

“After a heated exchange, the thief slashed the caretaker and ran away. Other farmhands heard the commotion and helped rush the caretaker to Besut Hospital for outpatient treatment,” Mohd Zamri was quoted as saying.

The next day, the same thief was spotted in the plantation yet again, only this time, the plantation owner was ready for him.

The plantation owner allegedly slashed the thief and left him bleeding from a slash wound near a river.

The owner then lodged a police report.

Mohd Zamri told the NST that the police are currently investigating the case.
