The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has called on a man who performed dangerous motorbike stunts in Kelantan, while wearing baju Melayu during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays, to surrender himself at a police station.

The man and his female passenger were brought under police attention after a video of their antics went viral on social media.

The PDRM has requested the man’s presence at a police station to aid investigations under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987.

“Police are tracking down a motorcyclist dressed in a baju Melayu who carried a female passenger while performing a dangerous ‘wheelie’, which is when the motorcycle’s front tire is lifted.

“The incident is believed to have happened in Jalan Pasir Puteh, Kg Peringat in Kota Baru, Kelantan,” the statement read.

Netizens expressed their disappointment in the couple’s actions after videos of their stunts on a Honda EX5 motorbike circulated online.

One video posted on Instagram by a local automotive page @careta_malaysia received around 3,000 views and 200 comments in just two hours, with many commenters criticizing the duo.

On Facebook, several users expressed their regret at the video’s negative portrayal of Kelantan, with one user, Ahmad Razi, sarcastically congratulating the youth of Kelantan for their “excellent performance in the motoring arena.”

“Your children would be ashamed to see this,” an Instagram user by the name of @mgthrzn said, while another user, @fahmy_mansor ridiculed the man, saying: “This is very good! Hope you get caught (by police) soon!”
