Babysitter returns home to find son hanged in toilet

A 72-year-old woman had the shock of her life when she found her son’s lifeless body hanging from the wooden frame of his bedroom toilet when she returned home from work.

The Star Online reported that the woman, who declined to be named, had just returned to their home in Solok Lenggong, Georgetown on Friday when she made the discovery.

The woman told the news portal that her son Ooi Hoi Chip, 31, used to work at a florist shop which had since closed down.

“He is married to a woman from China who is six months pregnant. He had planned to bring her here soon.

“I am now on my own after my husband passed away from kidney failure in 1992 and my eldest son died in an accident 12 years ago,” the part-time babysitter was quoted as saying.

OCPD Asst Comm Mior Faridalathrash Wahid told The Star Online that the case had been classified as sudden death.
