Azmin announces S’ngor exco, PAS loses one seat

Pas’s representation in the Selangor exco has reduced from four to three, in a break from its traditional 4:3:3 formula.

Newly-appointed Menteri Besar Azmin Ali announced the new names saying that the decision to reduce the number of excos from the Islamist party was made with the consent of Selangor Ruler, Sultan Sharifuddin Idris Shah, the New Straits Times reports.

PKR’s Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad is the new face appointed as exco. He was previously the deputy Speaker.

The 4:3:3 formula, agreed upon by all Pakatan Rakyat coalition parties when Khalid Ibrahim took the top job in Selangor in 2008, had given PAS four seats, while PKR and DAP had three each. As late as yesterday evening, Azmin told the media that the composition would remain the same.
