One of Azmin Ali’s first acts as the new Menteri Besar is to look into former MB Khalid Ibrahim’s last act – and it concerns exactly who you would expect.
Shortly after his swearing-in ceremony at the Istana Alam Shah this morning, the freshly-appointed MB said he would look into Khalid’s sacking of Pakatan Rakyat de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim from his position as the Selangor state government’s economic adviser yesterday.
The Malay Mail Online‘s Shazwan Mustafa Kamal reports that when asked if he would immediately reinstate Anwar to his old job, Azmin said that he would first need to meet Selangor state secretary Mohamad Khusrin Munawi to discuss the matter.
“I think I would have to look at the reasons given by the previous administration as to why Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim decided to remove Anwar as economic advisor,” he said.
