Authorities capture another giant crocodile, with hair and bones found in its stomach

Barely a week after capturing and slaying a huge killer crocodile, the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) has snared yet another giant reptile.

This time, according to a report by The Star Online, the crocodile measured 4.1m long and weighed 500kg.

The animal was reportedly caught by SFC’s swift wildlife action team (SWAT) on Monday morning at Sungai Samarahan in Sarawak.

Upon being cut open, authorities reportedly found bone fragments and hair in its stomach.

“The crocodile was hooked 200m from the Kampung Pinang jetty. It was cut open and the stomach contents examined.

“Some degraded hair and bones have been found and these will be sent for forensic examination,” SFC said in a statement cited by the news portal.

The capturing and culling operation was conducted after a villager, Ismandi Osman, was reportedly attacked by a crocodile and was reported missing almost a month ago.

This was the second giant crocodile caught in a span of one week.

Last Saturday, SWAT captured and culled a male crocodile measuring 4.4m long and weighing 600kg. Hair and bone fragments were also reportedly found in its stomach.
