Audit report on Khalid’s alleged ‘golden handshake’ out this week, says Azmin

By the end of this week, Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali is expected to get his hands on an audit report on his ex-MB Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim’s RM2.6 million “golden handshake” to his staff.

The Malaysian Insider reports that Azmin will receive the Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) audit report which will reveal if the alleged breach in payouts did in fact, happen.

“They have done their part and had gone through their findings. I expect it to be ready by this week,” Azmin was quoted as saying after meeting state government employees.

Azmin also reportedly said that any decision made against Khalid would be done after thorough scrutiny of the audit report findings.

“I have to look at the results of the investigation, then we (the state government) will decide what to do next,” TMI quoted him as saying.

Khalid is alleged to have made a payment of RM2.6million under a voluntary separation scheme to eight ex-MBI staff.
