It’s the season for the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Fair — the go-to place for cheap airline tickets and holiday deals.
Happening at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) from March 13 to 15, the fair will feature 1,124 booths, and 450 of them would be for domestic travel, Bernama reports.
“Focusing more on domestic tourist destinations will help give a boost to travel agents who have suffered a drop in domestic product sales in the past few months,” organising chairman S. Jayakumar was quoted as saying.
And by the way, if you’re cringing just thinking about the agony at the carpark, here’s some good news: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is being considerate enough to cut 25 per cent off its regular ticket prices for Matta Fair visitors coming into KL using the KTM Intercity service.
But, in order to qualify for the discount, you’ll have to: 1) travel between March 13 and 15; 2) travel to the KL Sentral Station only; and 3) travel with at least one more person.
KTMB’s Marketing and Customer Service senior manager, Mohd Noordin Kimi said: “Besides that, when purchasing the tickets, the customers must say out the password, ‘KTMB Matta Fair’.”
