Attention-seeking, racially-charged blogger Papagomo has been arrested over video remarks

Avid blogger/vlogger, and man prone to inflammatory statements, Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, formerly known as Papagomo, currently trying desperately to make “Sir Azri” happen, has been arrested, according to central police headquarters, Bukit Aman.

Earlier today, a spokesman for DAP’s youth wing confirmed that they had filed a police report against Papagomo regarding comments he made via video to his Facebook account they claim intended to incite racial tensions, as well as statements made accusing coalition government member party DAP of being the mastermind behind the riot at a Subang Jaya temple set for relocation.

Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin told media earlier this week that lawyers representing land developer One City had been given RM150,000 to hire “thugs” who incited violence between temple factions.

Now, the inspector-general of police, Mohamad Fuzi Harun, has confirmed that Papagomo was in fact detained last night while investigators look into a clip that many allege was made with the intention of spreading racial hatred, and inciting religious disharmony.

Relaying a message to his 135,000 followers late last night, Papagomo, a member of UMNO youth, told them that he was being taken to the Wangsa Maju-area district police station to have his statement recorded.

“I do not know what is wrong in freedom of speech which has been lobbied by the Pakatan Harapan government.

“My fight to call on the Anak Bangsa (native people and Malays) to rise in the (Facebook) live video is not a call to arms, or to hurt anyone,” he wrote.

His earlier video referred to Malaysians of Indian descent as “squatters,” and went further by urging that Malaysia’s ethnic minorities be stripped of their voting rights.

Sounds like a great guy, amirite?!
