An ex-soldier is planning to travel around Peninsular Malaysia for 60 days…in a kayak.
Murad Mohd Kassim, 45, is giving himself a two-month timeline to set a record with this solo expedition from April 1, the New Straits Times’s Sylvia Looi reports. The journey will take him from Kuala Perlis right up to Bachok, Kelantan.
“I have set a target of 60 days to complete the expedition covering 2,200km. “I will start to kayak at 7.30am before calling it a day at 6pm daily,” he was quoted as saying at a press conference in Ipoh. To pull this off in the set time, Murad has to row 40km a day. Phew.
This is reportedly his fourth attempt to carve his name to this feat, so we wish him — and his arms of steel — all the very best!
