Jailed former Opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim was rushed to hospital last night due to high blood pressure.
His lawyer Sivarasa Rasiah wrote a note on Facebook last night describing Anwar’s blood pressure as ‘unstable’.
“Let us pray for him.”
Anwar is serving a five-year sentence at the Sungai Buloh prison after he was convicted of sodomising his aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.
His family had previously alleged that Anwar did not receive sufficient medical attention while in prison, but the Health Ministry countered their claim by saying that a panel of specialists had already treated and assessed the 68-year-old.
