Another man, this time a 31-year-old, has been arrested by the police for allegedly insulting the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, on Facebook.
Johor police chief Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd told Bernama that the man was picked up by the police at Taman Bukit Bendera in Pahang after a police report was lodged against him on June 2.
The man had allegedly uploaded an offensive message which had insulted the Tunku Mahkota of Johor via his ‘Chong Choonhau’ Facebook account.
“Also seized were two tablets. The suspect will be remanded tomorrow at the Johor Baru Magistrate’s Court to enable police to complete investigation,” Wan Ahmad told the news agency.
The case is being investigated under Section 233 of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, Wah Ahmad added.
On May 28, a 23-year-old assistant chef in Selangor was detained by the police for allegedly posting statements on social media that insulted Tunku Ismail.
