Anonymous last caller is prime suspect in Kajang shooting

Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) are zeroing in on a phone call from an unknown number that an insurance received moments before he was shot in Kajang.

The caller, a woman, had instructed the insurance agent to go to Jalan 2/13, Section 2, Taman Kajang Utama, where a waiting gunman fired at him.

The woman had called on the pretext of wanting to buy insurance for her husband.

A source from the police told The Malay Mail Online that investigations suggest the caller could be an accomplice of the shooter, by way of luring the victim to the location.

“We are now in the midst of tracing the phone number and the person who called,” the source said.

When recording his statement with the police, the insurance agent claimed he did not know the identity of the woman who had called him.

“The victim thought it was a random person who got his number and wanted to enquire about insurance. He said he always received such calls,” said the source.

Before the shooting took place at 8pm last night, the victim had tried to call the woman back, but was unanswered.

The shooting took place while the victim was in his car; two suspects then appeared on a motorcycle.

The pillion rider then took out a gun an fired a shot towards the victim, which hit his right thigh.
