An shopper unleashed her anger at a popular grocer in MidValley on Facebook after spotting what a rat in a box containing brocolli.
The woman, Chiah Yoke Fong posted two photographs of the rat hiding underneath the vegetables at the Aeon Big grocery store.
Chiah said she informed a foreign worker about the problem.
“I insisted that he call for the manager. Instead he asked the Malay lady at the weighing counter to have a look. The staff don’t seem surprised nor apologetic about the hygiene issue. I won’t be buying food stuff from this outlet for a long time to come,” she said on her post.
Her post has gone viral, getting over 7,700 shares as of this morning.
According to news portal The Rakyat Post, a branch manager from the company confirmed that the incident had in fact taken place.
The portal quoted him as saying that the management has been informed.
This is a first time incident and we are working towards cleaning the grocery department and ensure that it does not happen again,” he told TRP.
