Eighty men joined a May Day brawl outside of Hospital Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, early bank holiday morning. Witnesses report that at around 3:15am, a group of men, some with motorbikes, ran onto the streets of Pandan Indah and began attacking each other.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Assistant Commissioner Hamzah Alias said four police officers were patrolling the area when they saw the group of men brawling, and ordered them to disperse Monday morning. “The men were using their motorcycle helmets as weapons and did not heed police orders to disperse,” he said. They did not obey police orders, and were caught on video by a nearby resident running away. Police managed to arrest two men, aged 28 and 33, one of them wielding a parang (machete).
Footage below shows some men being pulled off their bikes and being kicked, in their attempt to flee.
No word on what caused 80 men to waste a perfectly good public holiday getting dirty on the streets of Ampang, but I’m sure the answer will be enlightening.
