A 39-year-old aircraft technician has been charged at the Shah Alam magistrate’s court with two counts of promoting terrorist acts.
A report by The Star Online said Nor Hafizy Che Meh had allegedly promoted Islamic State membership in his house at Kampung Melayu Subang here between Dec 2013 and October last year.
Found guilty, Nor Hafizy could be jailed up to 30 years and fined for each charge, the news site said.
The Star reported that Magistrate Raja Noor Adilla Raja Mahyaldin granted no bail and fixed mention on July 28.
Separately, a clerk was charged in Lumut with possession of books and documents on terrorism. Rafidah Juma’at, 26, faces a jail term of seven years, fine and forfeiture of the printed materials if found guilty.
