AirAsia is soaring to new heights (again)!
For the eighth time in a row, the local airline has been named the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline as well as Asia’s Best Low-Cost Airline, Bernama reported.
Its CEO, Tony Fernandes, accepted the awards at the 2016 Skytrax World Airline Awards – dubbed the ‘Oscars of the Aviation Industry’ – at the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK on Tuesday.
In his acceptance speech, the outspoken boss thanked his employees for a job well done, adding that their hard work enabled AirAsia to retain the coveted award for the eighth year running.
“But we have a long way to go and we can be better. We want to improve our customer service, including improving how we communicate with our customers,” he was quoted as saying in a live YouTube video right after accepting the award at the event.
Tony also added that moving forward, the airline would work harder to make flying with AirAsia a lot easier for its customers.
With over 19 million customers from 104 nationalities surveyed worldwide, the Skytrax Awards set the benchmark for airline excellence as it measure the standards across 41 key performance indicators of an airline’s services.
