If you’ve received an email from ‘AirAsia Singapura’ claiming that lucrative cash prizes are up for grabs through a programme called ‘2015 Mac Program Promosi AirAsia’, don’t bother — it’s a scam.
The email asks for the recipient’s personal details, promising RM130,000 from the airline’s group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes if they do so.
Today, the company said in a statement, that there is no such thing. “We would like to confirm that this is a scam which uses the AirAsia brand without authorisation, to lure the public to participate in its scheme. We advise the public to disregard such invitations and AirAsia shall not be held liable for any claims pertaining to the false scheme.”
“We never enlist third party services in organising our activities and official announcements are made via official channels such as credible mass media and our official social media channels at all times,” the statement said.
