Undeterred by its recent troubles, budget carrier AirAsia is now setting its sights on new routes to a new destination in Europe and a route to Hawaii this year.
Responding to speculation that the European route would be a reinstated flight to London, AirAsia group CEO Tony Fernandes clarified that the route would be to a completely new destination.
“We are seriously looking into it (London). I don’t think it will be this year because we’ve got a bit of adjustments to do with the plane. But London is definitely happening,” he said today at the launch of the AirAsia Asean Pass in Bangkok, according to The Rakyat Post.
“Something will also happen to Europe this year.”
Fernandes also intimated that the airline was working out a brand new route to Hawaii. “What is real is Hawaii. The process is now coming to place,” he said.
The AirAsia Asean Pass is a new package for its passengers that will allow travellers to fly to 10 destinations in Southeast Asia in a month for RM499, excluding airport taxes.
