After UPSR disaster, added security for upcoming SPM exam

After the disaster that was last month’s Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR), the Education Ministry has now developed a heightened sense of security for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).

They have come up with several methods to make sure the embarrassing exam paper leaks that happened with the UPSR is not repeated.

Education Minister II Idrish Jusoh said, as reported by the New Straits Times’ Azura Abas and Koi Kye Lee, that more policemen would accompany the vehicles transporting exam papers to all centres.

“Another measure is to ensure that the key holders (to the examination paper vaults) do not have the lock number combination,” he was quoted as saying.

Idris added that all SPM preparations have been smooth so far. The exam is scheduled to take place on Nov 3.
