Local actor Tony Eusoff, who shot to fame by playing the legendary P Ramlee in P Ramlee The Musical on the stage, was sentenced today to eight months in prison by a Singaporean court for possession of drugs.
The 38-year old actor from Sarawak, born Anthony Joseph anak Hermas Rajiman, was charged in Singapore on March 31 for being in possession of Class A controlled drugs.
Bernama reports that Eusoff was accused of having 4.56gm of a vegetable substance found to contain traces of marijuana when he was stopped by the Singaporean Immigration and Checkpoints Authority at the Tuas bus arrival hall upon his arrival in the island republic on March 12.
He was reportedly in Singapore at the time to film a drama.
