A baby girl, believed to be about a month old, was discovered abandoned near an oil palm tree in Jerantut earlier this week.
According to Bernama, the baby was found wrapped in a cloth along the Sungai Lekok road, Lata Meraung, with a note that said “take care of this child, her father died, I am Nuer Aini”.
A 28-year-old plantation worker who was passing by the road reportedly found the infant around 8pm on Monday after hearing her cries.
“The man then took the baby home before lodging a police report at the Jerantut police station at about 4pm yesterday,” Jerantut police chief Superintendent Azid Ismail was quoted as saying.
The baby has been warded at the Jerantut Hospital, Bernama reported.
