Incredible news from Malaysia, enough to make you put down the curry puff, wipe away the crumbs and fill your heart with goodness and desire to keep on truckin, at any age.

A 72-year old solo cyclist, Wan Hashim Wan Mahmood, often called “Pak Wan”, finished a 43-day trip through Southern Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and back to Malaysia today.

Pak Wan was accompanied to the finish line by a squad of nearly 50 fans, family and friends.

The journey ended where it all began, in Kota Baru, Kelantan, after cycling a loop of 3,000km that started 8 April.

Pak Wan has been named ‘The Oldest Bicycle Pedaller To Tour Peninsular Malaysia’ by the Malaysian Book of Records in April 2014.

In 2015, he rang in the New Year in a more promising fashion than most of us, by completing a solo tour in early Januaryof Southeast Asia in just 49 days. He cycled 5,319km through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Riau Indonesia and Malaysia.
