By the end of this year, 600 affordable homes under Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA) will be ready.
These units – 300 each – are in Bertam (Penang) and Kuala Ketil (Kedah), Bernama reports, quoting PR1MA chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias as saying that they are targeting an August release.
“My team is really pushing hard so that all the units can be delivered by August,” he was quoted as saying.
With 890,000 applications made so far for PR1MA homes, the company recently launched seven new projects in Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Kedah, Melaka and Johor (PR1MA @ Alam Damai, KL; PR1MA @ Bandar Meru Raya, Perak; PR1MA @ Sungai Petani 1, Kedah; PR1MA @ Kuala Ketil, Kedah; PR1MA @ Bandar Layangkasa, Johor; PR1MA @ Terbrau, Johor and PR1MA @ Melaka Tengah 1, Melaka).
The PR1MA housing scheme allows those with a total income of between RM2,500 and RM10,000 to apply for homes prices below the market rate.
According to Abdul Mutalib, 14 other projects would be open for applications soon.
