20 parked cars vandalised in one night near Cameron Highlands

Cars usually get keyed and scratched up if you’ve upset the parking attendant, but an incident in Brinchang, near Cameron Highlands, Pahang might have taken that up a few notches.

Between 3am and 5am this morning, no less than 20 parked vehicles in the area had their tires slashed.

The timing of the incident was surmised from the fact that a routine police patrol of the area at 2am found nothing amiss.

Brinchang district police chief DSP Muhammed Rizal Kamarudin told the New Straits Times Online‘s Seri Nor Nadiah Koris that the PDRM suspects the acts were carried out by a group of men using sharp objects.

He added that the vandalised vehicles were believed to have been obstructing a road in the area.

“The motive of the incident is still under investigation and police have received 11 reports from owners until 3pm,” he said.

The incident is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
