A brand new day, a brand new snake story.
This time, a scary king cobra spotted in the hills of Paya Terubong in George Town created quite a stir among residents and passers-by.
But instead of calling the authorities first, the brave passers-by managed to catch the snake, which was found lying motionless.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman told The Star Online they received a call from a member of the public at about 11am on Sunday informing them that they caught the snake.
“We deployed three firemen to the scene to collect the reptile.
“The 1.5m-long king cobra could not move fast as it seemed to be full, probably after a meal,” the spokesman said, adding that they later handed the snake over to the National Parks and Wildlife Department.
