Someone get Aalia Zafira Tito Livio Tovar a bottle of Gaviscon – we think sh’s going to need it.
The 12-year old student from Johor Baru’s SK Infant Jesus Convent joined a ribs-eating competition at Komtar JBCC yesterday, organised by that world-famous purveyor of smoked meats and gravy, Tony Roma’s.
Beating out almost a dozen other competitors, the tiny young lady wolfed down a plate of three Tony Roma’s beef ribs in three minutes and 13 seconds, making her the champion in the women’s category.
Her father, California-based Tito Livio Tovar, 35, only managed to scarf his up to 2nd place in the men’s category.
“We went jogging and cycling the night before to build up an appetite,” Aalia told The Star Online‘s Norbaiti Phaharoradzi, when asked about the secret to her success.
“I was hungry during the contest, so I kept eating and eating.”
Atta girl!
