12 partygoers who were warded after allegedly taking drugs at the Future Music Festival Asia event in Bukit Jalil on Saturday are reportedly in stable condition.
According to Cheras police chief Mohan Singh Tara Singh, nine of them are being treated at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), two in the Universiti Kebangsaan Medical Centre (HUKM) and another in the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).
Three other patrons – two Singaporeans in HKL and a Taiwanese in UMMC – have been discharged.
Of the 12 revellers still warded, eight are Singaporeans and one each from Myanmar, Iran, the Philippines and Malaysia, Mohan said in a statement today.
Early on Saturday, six revellers aged between 19 and 28 died after overdosing on methamphetamines before attending the Future Music Festival Asia event.
Mohan said 29 people, 15 foreigners and 14 locals, were arrested for drug abuse during the event.
“After investigations, an individual was charged, another released and 10 released on police bail,” he said, adding that 17 were remanded, three of them from last Friday until March 27, three (from Saturday until today) and 11 (from Saturday until March 28).
