Malaysia Airlines Bhd is about to redesign its iconic uniform, with hopes that it would present a new and re-energise feel to the company.
The national carrier — fresh out of a painful restructuring process — is teaming up with fashion designer Farah Khan’s label to design the entire range of uniforms, including those in flight deck, cabin crew as well as airport and engineering departments, The Star Online reports.
“With this collaboration, we look forward to taking this a step further, creating a fashionable and functional new collection,” Malaysia Airlines chief commercial officer Paul Simmon was quoted as saying in a statement yesterday.
He hoped that this would ‘mark a fresh new start of MAB’s transformation for all customers who fly with the airline’.
Khan said the airline’s new uniform would reflect the many facets of the company that fascinated her and her team.
“I am hugely excited about this partnership and the opportunity to make a positive impact in terms of the comprehensive look of cabin crew, ground staff and the rest of Team Malaysia Airlines,” she was quoted as saying. The new designs are set to debut sometime after September.
