Video: Sultan of Johor drives his million-dollar Mack truck around Muar, because why not?

Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar of Johor made waves last year when it was announced that he had commissioned a unique, custom-decorated Mack truck (yes, the same one on which Optimus Prime was modelled) from an Australian auto outfitting firm, likely for more than a million ringgit.

Recently, His Royal Highness deigned to drive said Mack truck around the Royal City of Johor, Muar.

Any questions?

Sultan Johor takes world’s most expensive Mack truck for a spin in MuarThe Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar recently took his custom–made Mack truck, said to be the world’s most expensive, for a drive to visit the rakyat in Muar. With Paul Anka’s ‘Diana’ playing in the background, Sultan Ibrahim displayed his skills in handling the truck and blared the horn as he drove along the district roads on Tuesday. The Mack Super-Liner truck was delivered to Sultan Ibrahim in Oct 2015.Billed as the most expensive Mack truck ever built, the Super-Liner was developed in Brisbane, Australia by Mack Trucks Australia. The truck can reach a maximum speed of 100km/h and was rumoured to have broken the price record of USD350,000 for the previous most expensive custom truck, which was a US-built rig.The truck comes with a sleeper cabin that was expanded to fit a foldout double bed. It has a cooking grill, refrigerator, flat screen televisions, six-camera CCTV system and a Bose surround system among others. It took the company a year to build the truck.

The New Straits Times Online reports on its Facebook page that Sultan Ibrahim had Paul Anka’s ‘Diana’ playing in the cab as he made his leisurely rounds through Muar, blaring his decidedly cheerful custom truck horn as he drove past.

Last month, footage spread on social media showing the truck rumbling through Johor at night, and getting refueled at a petrol station. This marks the first time any video of the Sultan himself inside the truck hsd been released, much less any of His Majesty steering it down Malaysian roads.

After all is said and done, it’s his state, and he’ll drive his pimped-out Optimus Prime through it if he wants to. Roll out!
