If it wasn’t enough that she has a song produced by hitmaker Pharrell Williams, local songbird gone global Yuna will be putting out a new duet with American R&B icon Usher.
The good news was revealed by Canadian music producer and Verve Music Group chairperson David Foster at a press conference in KL yesterday.
“Yuna recently recorded the duet with Usher. I think that might be the thing that will take her over to the top. I have 100 per cent faith in her,” Foster, who is one of the judges on Asia’s Got Talent, told the New Straits Times‘ Bibi Nurshuhada Ramli.
“She’s a Malaysian, and a beautiful soul. We’re not giving up on her. Our goal is to turn her into a superstar.”
Foster handpicked Yuna to join the Verve Music Group’s roster of artists in 2013.
Foster is in town to perform at the Hitman David Foster And Friends Asia Tour 2015 in Genting Highlands’ Arena of Stars tomorrow night, alongside global superstars (past and present) Natalie Cole, Boyz II Men, Peter Cetera, Ruben Studdard and Jackie Evancho.
