The Sultan of Johor bought himself a custom Boeing 737-800

It seems the speedboat and the Mack truck were just the beginning for Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar of Johor.

The PR-friendly monarch has reportedly added another item to his stable of modes of transportation the rest of us can only buy in open-world video games: a Boeing 737-800 with custom royal Johorean livery.

The Malaysian Insider reports that the aircraft was spotted in Everett, Washington in the US, where the jet was being outfitted with a custom interior and painted – are you ready? – gold.

Here’s a photo of the new royal wings:

The plane will probably join Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail’s private jet in the royal hangar, which was a gift from the sultan on the occasion of the heir’s 31st birthday last June 30.

At this rate, we’ll just wait for images of His Majesty’s nuclear submarine to leak onto social media.

Daulat Tuanku!
