After its successful first virtual dance presentation at the inaugural Yayasan Hasanah’s Arts For All Seasons (ArtsFAS) last year, Rentak Bumi will be back next month but this time with live performances.

The three renowned dance organisations, Dua Space Dance Theatre, Sutra Foundation, and DiDance, will once more coordinate their efforts under the ongoing sponsorship of ArtsFAS 2022 to transform the performances into a captivating live production titled Rentak Bumi 2.0.

Rentak Bumi 2.0 is a thrilling multicultural dance celebration with contemporary, traditional, and modern dances performed by three of Malaysia’s most renowned dance companies.

The three dance companies performed six virtual dance performances under the name Rentak Bumi during the Covid lockdown.

These online presentations were a part of Yayasan Hasanah’s ArtsFAS programme, which brought together three renowned Malaysian dance companies to provide a stunning collection of various regional dances that would enthral every Malaysian.

The choreographers for the dances were Anthony Meh & Aman Yap from Dua Space Dance Theatre, Zaridah Abdul Mallik from DiDance, and Datuk Ramli Ibrahim from Sutra Foundation.

The virtual event was successful in raising awareness of the great range of Malaysian dance during the difficult epidemic period on a national and worldwide level.

“On behalf of Sutra Foundation, Dua Space Dance Theatre and DiDance, we invite you to witness the splendour of Malay, Chinese and Indian dance flavours, spanning traditional to modern dance at Rentak Bumi 2.0.

We also welcome students of performing arts to the specially put-together sharing session with the artistic directors behind the creative minds in making the dance pieces in Rentak Bumi.

This dance extravaganza is one not to be missed by art enthusiasts and the Malaysian public in general as we close the year 2022.” Ramli Ibrahim, Founder and Artistic Director of Sutra Foundation said in a statement yesterday.

You can catch the performances from Dec. 16 to 18. Tickets start from RM30. Find out more here
